THAT! FOOD PANTRY

We are making progress with THAT! Food pantry. We are working on getting backpack donations to allow us to send home weekend nutrition backpacks discreetly without bringing attention to the student’s food insecurities.

THAT! OutReach Center’s food pantry is registered at Walmart. Use the link below to support our efforts to address food insecurities in our school.

Current Projects

We are working on setting up an interactive garden for the whole school. We will have a reading reflection area, a lunch box area, a critter corner, and much more.

We will be expanding our vegetable and herb garden this year. Unfortunately, the weather has worn down our current vegetable beds. We will be replacing them with stainless steel ground planters.

THAT! OutReach Center is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) that supports the education of our Deaf and Hard of Hearing students through tutoring, teaching life skills, and supporting our community.

Our students who partake in our program will learn the importance of giving back to our community. We have started a food bank that will benefit the students in our school community and addressing food insecurities at the same time. The Covid pandemic has impacted many families who are in need of nourishment. The food pantry will provide food for our students who are in need of food for the weekends and during school breaks. Our pantry is starting with bare shelves and would love to start helping families as soon as possible.

We would greatly appreciate your support.

Dedication

This photo was taken by one of our agency interpreters who came in to sub for the day. She said she never imagined she would walk in the door and see someone interpreting from on top of a chair.

My response, “They needed the access too.”
